Desk Cockpit icon

Desk Cockpit

Everything you're working on, in reach and in sight, like a cockpit for your desk. The files and links that matter are one click away, and the ones you've stopped using quietly move aside.

In testing now. For Mac, macOS 26 or later.

How it works

Desk Cockpit doesn't manage your files. It helps you stay focused on them.

  1. Make a sectionProjects, clients, this week — however you think about your work.
  2. Add cardsDrag in files or links from Finder or your browser, paste them with ⌘V, or add a link by hand.
  3. Open and arrangeDouble-click to open, press Space to Quick Look, drag to reorder, right-click for everything else.
  4. Let it tidy itselfCards you haven't touched in a while move to Lost Focus, so the dashboard keeps showing what you're actually working on.

Made for staying on task

Glow and pin

Make the two or three things that matter today glow, and pin the ones that should always sit at the top.

Lost Focus

Untouched cards move to a collapsed Lost Focus section after 10 days, and leave after another 35. Pinned and glowing cards are never moved. The timing is yours to change, or switch off.

Find anything with ⌘K

Type a few letters of a card's name to open it, show it on the board, or Quick Look it, wherever it is.

Real previews

Files show their thumbnails and links show their site's icon and page title, so you know what's behind a card at a glance.

Menu bar and widget

Glowing and pinned cards are a click away from the menu bar, and from a desktop widget in three sizes.

Shortcuts

Open a card, add a link, or list what's glowing with the Shortcuts app.

Undo everything

Removed, moved or sorted something by mistake? ⌘Z puts it back. Removing a card never touches the file or link behind it.

Daily backups

A dated backup on the first launch of each day, and before any import. Export a copy whenever you like.

Fits your Mac

Liquid Glass cards, light and dark, four card sizes from Tiny to Large, an optional sidebar, keyboard navigation and VoiceOver labels.

Private by design

Your dashboard stays on your Mac. There's no account, no analytics and no tracking. The only time Desk Cockpit goes online is to fetch a linked site's icon and title, and that can be switched off. Read the privacy policy.
